Governor Rell Proclaims April as "Connecticut Volunteer Month"!

Mrs. Connecticut 2008 was on hand at the state Capitol in Hartford, to accept from State Representative Kevin Del Gobbo, Governor Jodi Rell's proclamation stating that the month of April will become "Connecticut Volunteer Month". Mrs. Piombo And Representative DelGobbo have been working together to create a higher awarness of National Volunteer Month.

By signing the proclamation and creating "Connecticut Volunteer Month", Governor Rell will give statewide organizations the opportunity to recognize and thank volunteers who work tirelessly to improve our communities, during the month of April.

Mrs. Piombo hopes that this proclamation will motivate others to volunteer their time and talent to help Connecticut's most vulnerable residents- the homeless, the hungry,the elderly, at risk youth and the disabled.
